The Challenge
In 2006 the founders of Egnyte had only a small one-room office and a big idea. They engaged ZEN to help conceptualize and evaluate this idea, then translate the concept into actionable designs.
The Solution
Using a balanced approach to product design, ZEN helped Egnyte evaluate the many opportunities and constraints to deliver a flagship product that is desirable, viable, and feasible. Through ethnography, user interviews, and prototype analysis the team was able to identify key problems with the way people manage their personal content. From these insights a solution evolved to provide a central location for distributed content while imperceptibly managing the complexities of version control. And, it surrounds this content with search and collaboration tools to help users interact with their documents, emails, and other files in ways they never could before.
Egnyte has launched in it’s BETA form early in 2008, with rave reviews.
